what I should be doing right now:
revising my short story
that’s it. My life really isn’t that complicated right now.
what I’m doing instead:
going through cool tumblr pictures
watching clips from “The Princess and the Frog”
looking at people’s facebooks and feeling nostalgic (it’s the damn holidays)
planning a shopping expedition to the city...
I fully maintain that, in the event of a zombie apocalypse, knitting will become one of the most highly marketable skills in the known world.

I always find it hard to start, and after I’ve started, I always find it even harder to continue. I think I am afraid to set words down on the page, to try to cast my thoughts in something like stone. My ideas, at first blush, seem so beautiful, like shimmering bubbles, and I am afraid that if I look at them too long and too hard, then they’ll burst.
